starseerdrgn | Micronazis, Sheeple, and Lintards (SPONs)

* Warning: I will be using some potentially "triggering" terminology in this blog post. You have been warned.

So… Recently, I heard a term used to describe people who push for nothing but PCs, and antagonize anyone who uses Macs: Micronazis. The reason behind it being that they "push the PC master race" with Windows, and attack anyone who doesn't agree with them. It's…kinda apt.

You also have Sheeple. People who blindly follow Apple, antagonizing anyone who doesn't use Apple products. There's also "Lintards" or "GNU/tards" or "Free Software Zealots", who antagonize people who use anything but Linux or FSF-approved free software. These catagories have effectively been around since the three PC platforms have been going.

Note I said "three PC platforms". That's because they're all personal computers. And yet, this stupid war keeps happening where someone has to make themself look better by lording over others for "not buying the right product". There's also a similar trend with PC gearheads, who will literally laugh at you if you don't have the absolute best system you can buy—regardless of whether that system meets your needs, or if you are happy with it.

These are the types of people who'll gladly shame you over something you were looking forward to using, or try to make you feel guilty over a purchase that you made. These are the people who will act like complete numbskulls and push their own opinion like they just got off on a Fox News contract. These are the people you don't want to associate with.

My word for them? SPONs (said "spoons"): "Sociopathic Piles of Noise". They do nothing but emit more noise than the shorted piezo beeper of a cola-encrusted ZX Spectrum.

My advice?

Block.
Unsubscribe.
Unfriend.
Unwatch.
Remove their comments.
Tell them to fuck off.

Enjoy what you enjoy. Let them have their echo chamber while you enjoy the sweet silence of not having them around. And if you can't just mute them, walk away. Otherwise, they will drag you down to the pits of hell like a 4chaner's unloved 2 year old if you don't, and you don't deserve that.

Don't let the negativity ruin you like it does many others. I say this from experience. I'm still recovering from those feelings, but I'm actually learning from those mistakes. I hope you learn from them as well.
