I've become so...oversaturated by the political discourse as of late that I've really started trying to avoid Twitter as best I can. It's just spreading everywhere, and I already have enough problems keeping my head above water without outrage culture sending me deeper into depression. I can't listen to podcasts without it creeping up. I can't enjoy watching lets plays without it creeping up. I can't enjoy games without it showing up...

I'm just tired of being told that I should be ranting and raving at everything, burning bridges, and hating anyone who doesn't agree with the "morally just" side of whatever-the-fuck-you're-ranting-about-now.

I get that people are angry, but when all I see is anger and hate from one side or another, it just dulls my creative side, and makes me feel worse than ever before.

I need to completely withdraw from many places for a while. For my own sake.

At least gopherspace has been quiet and civil.
